I was getting ready to write a DVD review of one of his films, and discovered that Jess Franco, the auteur behind such classic Eurosleaze as Vampiros Lesbos and The Awful Dr. Orloff is getting a Goya award this year, which is the Spanish equivalent of an Academy Award.
